Between the world of men and transcendent divinity there exists art. Art is the will to truth made physically manifest. It is more real then Reality. It is a dialogue triumphant over Time. – Andre Malraux

Shooting Star

This illustration was an assignment I had in my Design class that I took in 2011.  I had to demonstrate asymmetrical balance, unity by continuation, and movement by multiple images.  I love space and astronomy and took the assignment as an opportunity to illustrate a comet traversing the universe prior to meeting its end in an explosion

Isabella

This illustration was another tribute to one of my early influences,  Patrick Nagel.  It also was the first time I drew one in a large scale format.  I loved the challenge of seeing the world through Patrick's eyes and his style helped me to better understand both composition and anatomy.

This portrait is one of my favorite models in the 80's and 90's, Isabella Rossellini.

Duran Duran: Rose Arcana

This illustration is the fouth image for my gothic vampire series, Red Death.  Interestingly enough, the title of this illustration is inspired by the song of the same name on the album So Red the Rose by the Duran Duran spinoff band, Arcadia.

A pen & ink version of this piece was published in the 1996 chap book A Free Heart then later in the 1997 edition of An Ancient Death is the Most Beautiful, a vampire chap book.
