This illustration was created to go with a poem that tells the story of an Egyptian
female vampire in the ancient port city of Ophir.
Fun Fact: I am a bit of an Egyptologist by hobby and it was very exciting to get an assignment to illustrate something in an Egyptian theme, especially with a Gothic twist. I loved creating the border and using my extensive Egyptian library for references.
This illustration was published in the 1997 edition of An Ancient Death is the Most Beautiful, a vampire chap book.
